FAQ: Low Cost Termite Prevention & Pest Control (Frequently Asked Questions) |
|
This is a list of the most commonly or frequently asked questions by our customers and our answers. If you have a question not included in our FAQ, please feel free to contact us.
1. How much do you charge?
This depends on the size of the house – in linear feet (around the perimeter of the structure instead of square feet). We can quote you an exact price very quickly once we measure and inspect the house, but our prices tend to run about the price of a set of tires for your car.
2. Do you charge for Inspections?
No – Inspections and quotations are absolutely free of charge.
3. Why are you so cheap?
- Our primary market is preventative treatments – for customers who do not have termites inside the foundation of the structure.
- It is much easier and less expensive to do a preventative treatment. (usually about one-third the price of a full treatment by a national company)
- The regulations in SC were changed in 2005 to allow this.
4. What about customers who do have termites?
- We offer conventional treatments for about half the price of a national company. (Reasons: overhead, advertising, etc.)
5. What type of treatments do you offer?
- For preventative treatments we use bait and monitoring systems. (The same ones offered by some of the national companies.)Conventional treatments can be either bait and monitor or liquid barrier depending on the circumstances and customer preference.
6. Do you offer a guarantee (warranty, bond)?
- Yes – we offer both a $10,000 Repair Bond and a Non-Repair Bond depending on the situation and customer preference.
- The $10,000 Repair Bond covers termite control and repairs up to a total of $10,000.
- The Non-Repair Bond guarantees the control of termites at the customer’s location. It is less expensive and very attractive for
customers who do not have termites.
- Our warranted service is covered by a $1,000,000 liability policy issued in the state of SC.
7. How long are your warranties?
Our guaranties are for Lifetime. (as long as the customer maintains the agreement.)
8. Can your contracts be transferred?
Yes - our contracts can be transferred to a new owner in case of sale, etc. There is only a small administrative fee of $100.
9. How much are your Renewal Fees?
- Our renewal fees are a percentage of the initial treatment price. (they tend to be around $200.)
- Renewal fees do not start until the 2nd. year of the contract.
- They may increase after the 3rd. year of the contract (a maximum of 5%), but it is our business philosophy to keep the costs of our services at the lowest in the industry.
10. What is your Financial Stability – Years in business?
- The company was founded in 2005. We opened for business in January 2006, which is when the regulations to allow preventative termite treatments came into effect in this state.
- We are a division of an existing well-established company. This was done to save on the facilities and accounting systems needed to run a business, and keeps our overhead expenses low.
- We have no problems financially. The company is a partnership between two well-established businessmen and has no debt
whatsoever.
- The founder of the company has years of experience with a leading national pest control company and founded TPS to offer
affordable termite coverage to consumers for the long term.
Our philosophy is "Why pay for something you don't need". If you don't have termites then why pay for a complete termite job? A
preventative system can kill termites and keep them out of your home. If they somehow manage to get past our system you will be
referred to a reputable termite extermination company for treatment. (The TPS system already in place will not be money thrown away, but will continue to be used to monitor and protect your home).
